ou're bidding on a very cool antique color chromolithograph - "King Brian Boru Before The Battle Of Clontarf. A.D. 1014" - titled along the bottom with publishing info, "Copyright 1901 by Kurz & Allison, 267-269 Wabash Ave., Chicago". Appears to still be in its original framing under glass - total size in frame is 27 X 321/2", print size appears to be 24" X 20". It is a fantastic scene - Boru - considered the great unifier of Ireland - atop his white horse in armor and shield, rais...es a crucifix in the air in front of his giant army before riding off to the battlefield - where he ultimately dies, but, per legend, Ireland defeats the scourge of Viking invaders - still a nice antique oak frame and antique glass, though, and overall a nice antique as well as an art piece. Famed for their now highly sought-after American Civil War battle scenes, there was perhaps no better publisher for this type of high historical drama than Kurz and Allison. I have researched this piece high and low and have not been able to find another example of or reference to this print, so the condition issues should be balanced with the scarcity and appeal of this piece. Please review photos carefully to make your own determination of overall condition and appeal, and don't hesitate to ask any questions prior to bidding - thanks for looking!this is an estate sale found I don't know much about itI copy and paste all this info from google
