Dan Winkler - Axe/Hatchet RARE PROTOTYPE comes with Leather Sheath. One of the First. Condition is New. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.We visited the Wildlife Expo in Charleston, South Carolina in 2005 or 2006. We were lucky enough to meet Mr. Winkler (a fabulous Blacksmith and Knife/Axe Maker) and Ms. Shook (a wonderful Leather designer especially of Native Knife Sheaths). Together they create beautiful weapons and their weapons have been showcased in several movie such as; The Last ...of the Mohicans. We were so excited to run into both Mr. Dan Winkler and Ms. Shook before the Show. We bought several Knives and Axes/Hatchets before the show. The first series of knives and Axes/Hatchets were made by both Winkler and Shook. Ms Shook’s Sheath designs were out of this world. I love them and hate to part with any of their items. I wish we didn’t have to sell any of their weapon creations of Art. Winkler II is the second series made by Dan Winkler. This series is more for Military use. The sheaths are more plain and sturdy.This Axe/Hatchet prototype was made to pull your Axe/Hatchet from the top or bottom of the Sheath. This was his new design being able to get your Axe/Hatchet off your belt and Sheath easier. Nice idea. Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks so much!
