Wonderful original antique Chinese hand embroidered banner circa 1880s. these don't turn up very often and this has come privately from a large country house in France. The embroidery is finely done and the condition is fairly good but as usual with a textile of this age there are some issues.the majority of the silk and embroidery is still strong but the lining was completely shattered so it just came away quite easily, the worst damage is pictures in the last 4 photos it could have b...een caused through it being folded in that area but as mentioned it could be restored and most of it is still okay. Its a massive length and measures in total 126ins long and the width is 20ins how magnificent it must have looked blowing in the wind, That's about all I can tell you please look at the photos as they are part of the description.
