Raised onexquisitely cast ram’s feet with ram’s head mounts this super Victorian rolltop server is beautifully decorated with bright cut foliate decoration to therotating lid. There is a cartouche to each side of the lid, one is vacant theother sports a stylish and ornate monogram as shown in the images. PLEASENOTE THAT THIS DAINTY SERVER IS SMALLER THAN THE TYPICAL LARGE BREAKFASTSERVER. ...It is ingleaming condition in the main with just minimal signs of its age and service.Structurally perfect apart from the button missing (this has been removed atsome point as probably it was made of ivory) but with both screw fixings andcollets in place. The silver cover is very reflective and still very bright butthere is some use wear within the bowl as shown and expected signs of restingto the underside of the feet. The rotation of the lid works well. Displaysbeautifully, a highly collectable piece of Victorian silver plate and anunusual example of the genre.
