A 1941 news clipping describes the act as one of the "leading flying acts of the American amusement world, " and that the troupe consisted of "three people, a girl trapeze artist, a straight man on the horizontal bars, and a clown. The routines offered in this act consist of pirouettes, somersaults, single and double flying catches and leaps, with a unique variation of the traditional bar leap into the net for the finish."The Flying Valentines were stand-ins for Burt Lancaster, Tony Curtis and Gina Lollobrigida, the stars of the 1956 film "Trapeze", and the troupe helped to promote the film when it was released.Pieces date from 1929 - 1969 but are mostly from the 1940's and '50's.
