Vintage Thumbelina Baby Doll By Ideal 21 " Adorable Pink/Lime Green Outfit

I’m offering today one of my Vintage 1960's Thumbelina Baby Doll. This is one of the larger sized Thumbelina's which look just like a real baby. I have been collecting dolls for some 45 years and these are the most collected in my collection. I have many and parting with them is most difficult for me because they have the sweetest faces ever. I've had several ladies ask me ...to sell a few more, so I'm doing so for them to love and cherish just as I have over the years. I love dressing them up and watching their personalities shine through. This one has such a sweet appearance and will steal your heart.
Just wait till you see this doll in person. She is truly a beautiful baby doll and hard to believe she is from the year 1960. I will start at the top of the doll and work my way down so as not to omit anything in my description. Starting at the top of her head, she has dark blonde hair which is in a wispy baby cut which frames her chubby little face. She does have some plugs missing in the back around the neckline area which is hidden by the adorable head band made for her. Her custom designed head band has a large pale pink and white polka dot and bright green grosgrain bow to go around her sweet baby head. It sits high and is attached to a delicate 1" wide bright green stretch hair band which remains securely on her head. As you go down to her face, she has single palest of brown lines for eyebrows. She has hand painted bright blue eyes which have been highlighted for realism.
She has a dainty little nose with open nostrils for realism which flows down to her rose bud shape lips. Her lips are painted dark pinkish color with open mouth which looks like she's waiting to be given a bottle....oh so precious! Her head is vinyl which is attached to her original firmly stuffed body which has been cleaned and sanitized over many days. Her legs and arms are vinyl. Her head is jointed so you can pose her in many different positions as you can see from the photos. Her ears have holes in them which I must assume at one time had a crier. She no longer cries. My Thumbelina did not cry either when I was a little girl. This one has been cleaned and sanitized and looks new again. Taking apart this doll was most difficult because her winding mechanism goes way up into her head, so you have to carefully remove the head away from the body and clean out all the dirty filling so you can clean and soak. What a job it is! She has her original knob on the back for winding her moving mechanism. The back of her neck is hallmarked: "Ideal Toy Co., OTT-19". She actually measures around 20" to 21" long from the top of her head to the bottom of her feet.
Now to her adorable outfit I chose for her debut. I decided on a precious soft pink and white polka dot onesie with snaps in the crotch to keep the onesie in place. I cut a small hole in the center back of the onesie which allows the knob to be turned easily. I added soft pink, bright green and darker pink chiffon rosettes to the front of her neckline which blends beautifully with the adorable pink/white polka dot stockings with bright green tulle around the edge of the stockings. I chose a ruffled soft pink tulle tutu which looks sooooo cute! Under her tutu she is wearing pink and white cotton panties with white lace trimmed at the edges of the pant legs. As mentioned above, she is wearing stockings which are pale pink and white polka dots with very full soft bright green tulle which frame the edge of the stockings. The stockings come to just below the knee line. She is wearing bright green socks with soft pink hand knitted booties I've tied pale pink satin ribbon through the booties so they would remain securely on her feel. This adorable baby doll will come with her very own bright green and pink bunny rabbit to keep her company.
She has been in my collection for many years and over the course of years I clean my dolls and try to avoid them from ageing by doing so. They are not played with by children who come and visit; I know that sounds mean, but sometimes they play too rough. My dolls are kept in a doll room specifically for them and are displayed for everyone to enjoy.
All my dolls are truly loved and cared for as though they were my children. Their clothes are either original to the doll, made by me, I've tried finding doll clothing from the same era as the doll or find clothing which match the personality of the doll. We do not smoke and I try very hard to keep a tidy clean home free of dust and odor. My dolls are clean and most of the time look as though they did when they were sold new. Depending on how old they are, I do try to be honest in detailing if some of the dolls have bruises, missing toes or fingers or other issues, but that doesn't mean they aren't worth having; for each one is like children.....they are all beautiful in their mothers eyes. If I've missed something it would never be intentional.

This Thumbelina is approximately 20" to 21" tall and her little green and pink bunny is approximately 10" tall.
CONDITION:
I would consider this doll in good condition since she has been completely restored. She has her original working mechanism inside her body which allows her head to move slowly like a new baby. The original knob is on the back of her body. She no longer cries. Her outfit is new and was purchased just for this baby doll. Her booties were hand knitted just for her to wear.
