A very beautiful and wearable original 1920s beaded silk flapper dress! This one has a black silk/satin base with a striking beaded collar that traces the scooping neckline in front and continues around to a stunning t-back detail. The beads are a mix of vibrant jewel tones and classic neutrals including bright pink, purple, cobalt blue, sea foam green, crystal clear, champagne, and matte black. The skirt is remarkable, composed of double layers of metallic gold lace c...overed in floral beading with intricate scalloped edges (skirt has an under lining of metallic rose colored silk). The dress is unlined and slips over the head to wear. Some imperfections throughout as detailed in the photos, most notably the seam at the top of the left shoulder has come loose (the right shoulder seam has a hand repair already). There is minor discoloration in the armpit areas but the silk of the bodice is in great condition otherwise. Some repairs to the delicate beading that has come loose over time and reinforcement of seams would be all that was needed for this gown to be safely wearable. The beading is in good condition considering this piece is 100 years old (please see pictures for close ups of loose and missing beads). The details and craftsmanship are breathtaking; this dress is a wearable work of art for anyone with the skill to complete some minor restoration.
