Description A fabulous rare large-sized genuine English antique Art Nouveau solid sterling silver & real crocodile skin wallet by the silversmith Peter Robinson Ltd - (1902), in excellent clean condition and with full English silver hallmarks for London 1902. Superb quality 117 year old exa...mple; a handsome size, with a beautiful large shaped and stylised Art Nouveau silver border mount, which is decorated with attractive mock silver screw heads. It has a sprung push button lid catch and inside it has its original undamaged soft kid/calf leather interior with 3 separate compartments. The brown crocodile skin has a wonderful age colour/patina and as a bonus there are no added silver mounted monograms or inscriptions.Measurements Large size, measures approx 5.3 inches (135mm) x 3.65 inches (92mm) and is 0.5 inches (13mm) deep.Date English antique 19th Century Victorian solid sterling silver, with a full set of English silver hallmarks for London 1902 (date letter "g") on all 4 silver corners. Superb clear struck marks and includes the extra letter "F" stamp denoting imported silver. 100% guaranteed all original.Maker Silversmiths initials "P.R Ld", (Peter Robinson Ltd - active 1902). Condition Excellent clean condition and ready to be used. No splits or cracks to the large silver mounted border, no solder repairs and no nasty knocks or dents, a very fine example. The crocodile skin is also still in superb condition and it is nice and supple and has a wonderful age colour/patina. The interior soft kid/calf leather is original and is still in mint condition with no tears or losses and no age dis-colouring. The lid catch still works perfectly and opens and closes tightly and securely. Has not been personalised either. Beautiful rare stylised Art Nouveau silver border and a good large usable size.
