The quilt has scalloped sides. Taking those scallops in consideration, it measures 77" by 66" across and weighs about 3 1/2 lbs. The bed is a queen, 80" by 60".
The printed fabrics are either feed sacks or other vintage cottons. All the piecing was done by hand, as well as the quilting.
Regarding laundering this quilt: those are old fabrics, made to withstand hand washing and line drying. Any modern-day mechanical spinning of those fabrics can damage them; in order to remov...e the stains, though, we believe modern stain removers can be use bu, again, carefully and testing a corner or some other not easy to notice part of the quilt first.
