This is a very unique mouthpiece. The story is that the original mouthpiece we reverse engineered was a modified 7C by Bert Herrick. The rim is wide and slightly cushioned with a sharp bite. The rim profile makes it feel like a larger mouthpiece.The cup is moderate and close to the volume of a GR M cup. The alpha angle is higher than the GR M but closer to the alpha of the GR 64.7M. The big key is the throat ex...ponent which makes it a very open blow probably better suited to a trumpet with vintage characteristics like those from the 40's, 50's and 60's. This piece is also popular on Eb trumpet and some love it on piccolo! This piece offers an enormous sound if matched with the right player and horn.
