You're bidding on a cool, vintage-to-antique nautical lighting fixture - Base & cage both marked as manufactured by R.S. & Co - Russell & Stoll - New York. The company seems to have formed in the early 1900s and operated into the 1950s-1960s - The bulb fixture looks to me like it might be brown bakelite, so I'm guessing maybe 1920s or 1930s vintage. A classic bulkhead or passageway-type light, it appears to be solid cast brass. Three piece construction including the green A...dalet-marked explosion-proof glass globe - the base is 4 3/4" max diameter, with two bolt-down mounts and three plumbed openings on the sides - they look almost like gas fittings, so perhaps this was retrofitted into an electric light. Topped off by a screw-in red glass globe and a screw on brass cage. Cage is a little banged up and looks almost hand-forged, which adds a little honest age appeal. Note that the bulb-fixture is there, but it's not wired out, so I don't know that it works - SOLD AS IS AS FOUND. Great industrial look. Please review photos carefully to make your own determination of overall condition and appeal, and don't hesitate to ask any questions prior to bidding - thanks for looking!
