Excellent quality genuine 110 year old example, (definitely not a modern re-production), has its original strong magnifying lens encased in a nice sterling silver mount with silver handle. Has a large finger hole on the end and could be attached to a chain if wanted. There are no added personal engraved inscriptions. A lovely rare item.Measurements Measures approx 5.25 inches (133mm) in length x 2.8 inches (72mm) wide. The lens is 2.5 inches in diameter.Date English antique Edwardian solid sterling silver, with full English silver hallmarks for London 1909, (date letter "o"). Nice readable marks.Maker Silversmiths initials "G & S Co Ltd" (Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company Ltd).Condition Good condition, with no splits or cracks to the silver, no solder repairs and no nasty knocks or dents, just has a few minor little age-related surface bruises, really nothing much at all and a lovely example. Most importantly the magnifying lens is original and has no chips or cracks and has only minor age-related surface scratching and is nice and strong. There are no added engraved inscriptions.
