Vintage 1964 Vox Jennings JMI AC50 MKII Small Box Valve Rectified Guitar AmpThis particular version of the AC50 was only made for a few months, and only around 42 were produced. It is the crossover between the classic diamond input, copper panel, to the big box AC50. The cap codes, serial number and model all date this to late summer – early fall of 1964. Overall in good condition, with various scuffs to the tolex & scratching to the serial number plate. There have been two ...extra jack sockets drilled to the back of the amplifier, and the original hole has been left open, as you can see. The original power cable has been changed for a newer IEC. This has previously had a transformer burnt out, leaking wax on the wooden box internally. Therefore, we are certain the choke and one of the transformers (now labelled D8869) have been replaced. However, the previous owner used the original cover to disguise the fact. The majority of the original valves have been replaced with newer Electro-Harmonix valves, and the original voltage selector has been removed, meaning it is hard wired for UK voltage. If you are wanting to play this worldwide, I would recommend using a step transformer, and keeping the amplifier as it is.
