Offering for sale this vintage antique 3 reel slot machine made by the Mills Novelty company circa 1947-48.
The machine features Mill's "Silent Bell" mechanism - which was a workhorse mainstay for their machines in this period. It plays and pays as it should - having recently been lubed and checked over.
The cabinet has been refinished at some point - it has a nice finish and shows well. The castings were repainted as well - looks good overall. The metal pay card has some nicks a...nd scrapes but shows okay.
The machine features a Front-load jackpot. See photo to show it open. This innovation would allow an operator to refill the jackpot without having to go into the back of the machine after payout. The key for that lock is a newer Mills style (jagged center cut) key.
There is a working jackpot - it still has some of the old Buffalo nickels!
The back door is original - and has an original Mills lock with working key (see photo)
There is an old cigar box inside functioning as the cash box.
Please view all photos and watch the video to see it in action. The reel strips appear to be original from the casino that it was in. I was told this machine hails from a casino in Reno, NV - but have been unable to verify this. There is an original Mills paper label inside the cabinet (painted over with spray - but you can see through most parts) - - but no other cabinet markings.
Local pick-up is FREE and preferred. I can likely arrange delivery within ~100 miles of the greater Los Angeles area. Otherwise I can ship for $145.
