Antique Chinese hand painted porcelain plaque.Signed and dated 1919 (民国八年).Hand painted with underglaze blue andwhite landscape scene.The scene features a mansion among majesticmountains in the clouds. Two men in a thatched pergola playing chess.The artist wrote a note referring to takingrefuge from a hot summer day by playing chess under the shade.Signed and dated Chinese Republic 1919.The porcelain plaque/ panel is one in aset of four similar panels. The open carved frame was... added in the 1990s. I still have the other three panels shouldyou be interested. Each one is different.Excellent antique condition.Measurement: 92.5 cm (L) x 32.5 cm (W)Weight: 3.8 kilogrammeBuyers please note: Due to the size andthe fragile nature of the item.
