This is a CUSTOM made Roohide Cutting Saddle - built on original Roo tree. Saddle is loaded with quality silver that has been darkened as has the saddle.
I reached out to maker, who is friends with the original owner and he remembers this saddle and was able to promptly provide me with additional information including: " Hello, that saddle was built on our original Roo tree. Larry wanted that as a parade saddle which explains the color and the corner plates. I...t will ride, fit, and feel like our original cutter though..." Original owner is a well-respected member of the Cutting / Penning & Rodeo Community and ONLY got himself the finest of gear and stock.
SO.... If you are looking for the real deal - with some well done 'flair'... THIS is a RARE TREAT to be offered for sale!
Technically.... Black in color but I see some of the straps etc have 'browned' a bit as shown. Comes with the front and rear cinches shown and the straps. Also comes with the Cowboy Tack breast collar that is also loaded with silver that has been darkened. Older saddle in excellent shape as shown. I have not attempted any polishing of the silver and it will ship as shown - I do imagine that it would not be very difficult to polish it up if desired - but I also expect many will just like it the way it is.... Leather is PREMIUM quality. There is even inlaid etched silver on the Rigging Dees and on the belly piece buckles of rear cinch. a Beautiful and rather rare piece of Americana here - with every effort taken to make it special - - - There are no weak spots or damage - and as shown - Underside fleece is also great. Truly a RARE find that is gonna make someone real happy!
