Sony FH - 808R & 909R Portable Stereo Boombox ' S Vintage Mini HiFi JAPAN RARE 1988

Up for sale today I have a rare and collectible boom box made by Sony in the late 80's. In near perfect cosmetic condition. Has the following problems.
- Digital tuner display doesn't light up. I was able to test that the tuner and amp are working by putting the unit on "Tuner" . I'm sure it's just a bulb.
- I could never get the tape decks open to test their condition. Everything lights up but no way to test functionality. I've refurbished a few tap...e decks belt replacement etc. but the deck is a fairly complicated full logic unit so I didn't mess with it. I may even be doing something wrong but when you press the eject button neither door opens.
Sony FH-909R in near mint shape, scratchy balance easily cleaned. Everything seems to work as it should. Amazing sound amazing like new condition.
If you have the know how to fix the 808 up you could make some quick bucks as cosmetically it is near mint like new looks wise. These are going for over $1k complete these days.
