Up for auction is a vintage Aquadive Caribbean 709 watch. The band is a heavy, aftermarket mesh style stainless steel. It is in very good condition with light scratches. The crystal is glass and still nice with a few scratches. There are no cracks. The original orange, Scotchlite dial is in excellent condition with luminous hour markers and black minute chapters. It is signed Aquadive 1000 100 Atmos 3333 feet T Swiss Made T. All three hands are black with lume. Case is s...tainless and in good condition with some small nicks and scratches, mostly on the edge. Watch measures 48mm across not including the original, signed and screw down crown. Back of case is in excellent condition with all characters clear and easy to read. It is signed Caribbean Triple Safe Brevet 5292/68 7092578 Brevet 17531/68 18350/68 Full Steel Super Water Resistant 709 Swiss Made Automatic Incabloc. Bezel is original with scratches and a crack at the 36 and 42 position. I tried to show detail in photos. The cracks are hard to see and I only noticed them under magnification. It still turns unidirectionally with proper resistance and a distinct click. It can be forced to turn to the right, but it would have to be deliberate.
Watch is currently running, but will stop occasionally. A light tap against your hand will get it going again. Currently, it's been running four hours without stopping. Remaining functions work including winding the watch, the screw down crown, the automatic function as well as the date flipping at midnight. There is a quickset for the date by pulling out the crown to the first stop that also works fine. Watch has not been water tested or serviced and I recommend having it serviced to protect the functionality of the mechanical movement as well as to repair the occasional stopping of the movement.
