For sale is a high quality French violin. The instrument comes from a musician's estate and has been played professionally for many decades. The previous owner has had the instrument restored over the many years at the highest level.
Bodylenghts: ca. 358mm string lengths: ca. 325mm, stop lengths: ca. 196mm, neck lengths: ca. 130mm
Condition:
At that time the violin was completely restored by Hammer and Co. in Stuttgart. The instrument has some cracks, but these are repai...red so that they are no longer visible. It is almost impossible to spot the cracks with the naked eye - I am not even sure if there are cracks or if it just made as a precaution because of weaknesses in the wood?! There are cleats inside but you don´t see any cracks. There are also no soundpost cracks in the back, the top has probably a small soundpost crack. The middle joint on the upper part of the back has a stable repair and there are some worn edges all over the violin.
The bridge and pegs seems to be ok, but the strings are old and should be renewed. More pictures below the item description!
Tone:
The tone is powerful, deep and big, I think it is a great professional instrument!
I sell the instrument as a restoration object because I can not accurately estimate how much cost and how much effort is required to bring the instrument back in a ready to play condition.
