Kasie Dawn, 2000Rare One of a kind Polaroid by Shelby Lee Adams Making Polaroids is the first step in my photography and has been since 1974 with my black and white work. Working collaboratively with my subjects we get a Polaroid composition completed and then proceed to film. Polaroids are the first step and essential to my black and white work. My subjects view these images closely so they know how they... will look on film. We divide and share a few Polaroids after each photo session is complete. Today this Polaroid material is no longer manufactured and these Polaroids are now collected and exhibited by different museums and collectors. Several of Shelby’s Polaroid images will go into the artist archive at The Center for Creative Photography in Tucson, for future study. This unique Polaroid, signed and dated was made in 2000 with Shelby’s friend and subject Kasie Dawn; exposing Polaroid Type 52, the final image is on 4x5 inch paper coated materials, the exact image size offered is 3 ½ inches by 4 ½ inches.
