Victorian Black Silk Ebony Carved Dog Head Handle Folding Marquis Parasol
This antique Victorian Civil War era black silk ebony carved dog head handle folding marquis parasol dates from the 1860s. It is made of a black silk fabric, with layered tiered scalloped ruffle trim edging and small black silk ribbon bow trim accents. This marvelous mourning parasol has a black ebony wood carved handle with a charming dogs head, wooden folding shaft, with a marquis tilt top mechanism in...side to keep the sun off your face, finial top and is unlined. The parasol measures 27 inches long extended, 17 inches long when folded and the fabric is 15 inches long. It is in good working condition, with a few small frayed holes in the silk and some paint chips on the wood finial top. This is truly a wonderful antique Victoriana mourning parasol perfect for the dog lover!Items are described as accurately as possible, sold as found, possibly having some imperfections and flaws.
