VERY RARE Large adult size windbreaker (it WAS a low budget movie) is in Great Vintage Condition.  AIRPLANE & the Zucker Bros (not to mention Jim Abrahams) became CLASSIC by turning a low-budget spoof of 'disaster movies' with Well-Known Character Actors satirizing themselves in the style of Mel Brooks.  Outstanding Kentucky Fried Theater/AIRPLANE! graphics on back. This movie is an American classic and I don't think you'll find another out there.Airplane!  is a... 1980 film directed and written by David Zucker,  Jim Abrahams, and Jerry Zucker and released by Paramount Pictures. It stars Robert Hays and Julie Hagerty and features Leslie Nielsen,  Robert Stack,  Lloyd Bridges,  Peter Graves,  Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Lorna Patterson. The film is a parody of the disaster film genre, particularly the 1957 Paramount film Zero Hour!, from which it borrows the plot and the central characters,  as well as many elements from Airport 1975. The film is known for its use of surreal humor and its fast-paced slapstick comedy, including visual and verbal puns and gags.Airplane! was a critical and financial success, grossing over $83 million in North America alone, against a budget of just $3.5 million.  The film's creators received the Writers Guild of America Award for Best Adapted Comedy, and nominations for the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and a BAFTA Award for Best Screenplay. In the years since its release,  Airplane!'s reputation has grown substantially. The film was ranked sixth on Bravo's 100 Funniest Movies.  In a 2007 survey by Channel 4 in the United Kingdom, it was judged the second greatest comedy film of all time, after Monty Python's Life of Brian. ]In 2008,  Airplane! was selected by Empire magazine as one of The 500 Greatest Movies of All Time and in 2012 was voted number one in The 50 Funniest Comedies Ever poll.  In 2010 it was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress.Zucker, Abrahams and Zucker (abbreviated ZAZ) were a comedy filmmaking trio consisting of Jim Abrahams and brothers David and Jerry Zucker who specialized in writing slapstick comedy films during the 1980s and the early 1990s. The trio knew each other during their childhood years, growing up in Shorewood, Wisconsin, and attended Shorewood High School, which is sometimes referenced in their work. While attending the University of Wisconsin–Madison, the trio formed a theater group called "Kentucky Fried Theater, " which led to their sketch comedy film,  The Kentucky Fried Movie. This was followed in 1980 by the trio's breakout hit,  Airplane!, which remains a revered comedic milestone. Subsequent collaborations include the TV series Police Squad! and the films Top Secret!,  Ruthless People, and The Naked Gun. All of their projects relied heavily on parodies, visual gags and breaking of the fourth wall, and established a strong cult following. The notable stylistic exception is Ruthless People, a more traditional farce that was directed by the trio, but unlike their other productions, not written by them.Prominent ZAZ players include Leslie Nielsen,  Lloyd Bridges,  Robert Stack,  Rowan Atkinson,  Whoopi Goldberg, and Charlie Sheen. The trio's status as a three-person team of co-directors is highly unusual, although some of their later projects were directed by David Zucker working solo, and with Jerry Zucker and Abrahams credited only as producers and/or writers. Each member of the group has also had individual careers:David Zucker directed BASEketball,  My Boss's Daughter, and Scary Movie 3 and 4.Abrahams directed Hot Shots! and Jane Austen's Mafia!.Jerry Zucker directed Ghost,  First Knight, and Rat Race. Of the three, Jerry Zucker has found the most mainstream non-comedic success including Ghost and First Knight, which grossed $505 million and $127 million worldwide respectively.Ebayers often ask where I get all my crew jackets.  It's been a near-lifelong process.  I have been acquiring them in the Los Angeles area since 1987.  I had arrived from NYC and was amazed by all the flea markets, estate sales, thrift stores, etc. where one could find items of such a nature.  Jackets and t-shirts have been a common gift from grateful producers to their hard-working crews since the 1970's.   The history of entertainment is told in these extremely limited edition items and it was easy for me to become a passionate collector.  It was easy too, because the people who had earned these gifts often didn't value them as much as I did.    These days though, it's become much tougher to acquire desirable ones, since ebay and Antique Road Show have convinced everyone that everything they have is valuable.   I also have much more competition buying these items in my neighborhood than I did in 1987.
