1949 - 1959 HEDDON No. P - 41 " Pal " Jeweled A. B. L. Level - Wind TAKE - APART Casting Reel

It's my pleasure to offer at auction a 1949-1959 HEDDON No.P-41 "PAL" JEWELED LEVEL-WIND A.B.L. *TAKE-APART* CASTING REEL WITH THE ORIGINAL BOX, DRAWSTRING BAG, INSTRUCTIONS and SCHEMATICS. The black anodized No.P-41 was offered by James Heddon's Sons from 1949 to 1959. They were actually built and supplied to Heddon by the Bronson Reel Co., who produced most of Heddon's post-war casting reels. The tail plate is stamped "HEDDON "Pal" near the top and "P-41" toward the bottom. Under the... foot reads "PAT. APP. FOR - MADE IN U.S.A.". This lightweight aluminum reel comes equipped with strong clicker, smooth level-wind, strong anti-backlash control switch, perfect jeweled oil caps, tension control, lightweight aluminum spool with black plastic arbor, dual swirled pyralin handle grips and a "take-apart" feature that allows the reel to be disassembled for servicing by simply unscrewing the head ring by hand. I've added a photo of the original listing from Heddon's 1953 catalog. Reel is in about Very Good to Fine condition, with most wear confined to the tail plate. Displays beautifully, works perfectly and is extremely smooth-running. Put up in the original picture box, which shows corner and edge wear to the box top, but is very solid and complete. Carries a very nice full front label that is correctly marked for the reel. The original instructions/schematics are crisp and fresh. The original cloth drawstring bag is in excellent condition. A rather nice post-war combo from Heddon, all original and complete. To be sold with a very modest starting bid and NO RESERVE.
