This is a wonderful vintage hard to find Catalina Island Pottery California rich blue glazed box with lid in the shape of a ship/treasure or pirate’s box with great detail as shown in the pictures taken with and without flash. For its age, it is in nice condition, with no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. There are some very minor silver scuff lines on the blue glaze but it still looks really fine. The details on the pottery box and lid are pretty nice with the lock mechanism, han...dles and hardware and wood parts as shown. The bottom of the box is signed with the vintage CATALINA ISLAND scratched in mark. The box with lid measures about 3 1/2 inches tall by about 6 inches long by just over 3 1/2 inches wide. The box itself measures about 2 1/4 inches tall without the lid. This piece of pottery would make a wonderful addition to anyone’s vintage California or Catalina Island pottery collection.
