MarxLineMar battery operated American Airlines Douglas DC-7 airliner „Jet Powered Electra Flagship American N305AAAirlines“ manufactured in the 1950s. Operating on 2 D-cell batteries, it has a repeating motorized sequence that starts with each wing tip lightblinking, then the two left wing propellers start to turn followed bythe two right wing propellers. After increasing the rpm of all four props, the landinggear wheels start turning and the plane taxis forward. After approximatel...y 30seconds the airliner stops, the right wing propellers stop turning then the leftwing props stop and the whole sequence starts from the beginning again. I tested these functions by turning the toothed wheel accessible from an opening in the side of the gearbox under the wing and they work. Unfortunatelythe electric motor which drives the wheel does not run. Maybe the contact brushes have to be cleaned. Anyway, I have a spare motor which would fit, but I am not skilled enough to disassemble the clamped metal parts of the wing in order to dismantle the gear box and to test or change the motor. I will, of course, add the spare motor to the plane. Thefront landing gear can be turned to direct the taxiing airplane. Except alittle bit of corrosion at the lid of the battery compartment (see pictures)the plane is in very good condition and complete. The battery compartment is clean and free from corrosion. All props are complete, no prop blade is missing (as is very often the case). Postage in Germany €5.99Postage outside EU £19.00
