Vintage "Heywood Wakefield" Spindle Headboard
Elegant, King-size headboard salvaged from Northeastern Pennsylvania. It is made of solid maple and has a "Cinnamon" finish. There are 13 finely-turned spindles in the center flanked by 2 posts with ball finials. It has 4 metal brackets and pins for installing the rails (not included). I'm estimating that the headboard is about 60 - 70 years old. The beauty and quality of the pie...ce is only matched by it's superb condition! There are a few nicks and scratches here and there which are to be expected on a piece this old, but no serious flaws like breaks, cracks, dents, or gouges. It's quite clean and the finish is in great shape. Our carpenter thoroughly inspected the piece and didn't have to make any repairs nor reinforce anything. This headboard is structurally sound and ready for another lifetime of service.
