Vintage IBM Model M TERMINAL Clicky PS/2 Keyboard 5 - Pin DIN 240˚ SQUARE LOGO " 87
Item History & Price
TERMINAL LAYOUT MODEL M CLICKY KEYBOAD BORN MAR. 4, 1987
THIS IS A PRETTY RARE MODEL 1390636
AND HAS THE MORE COLLECTABLE SQUARE METAL IBM BADGE
This is not a typical AT connector...AT is 180˚ And this is The Rare 5-Pin DIN at 240˚
I was not able to test for function because of the proprietary connector
I believe from looking through forums
You would have to get something like Soarer's Converter cable to remap the keys
However this is a fixed cable... model and not a SDL connection
So this is a really hard core keyboard project or collectors piece
Search mariherigstad.wordpress for more info on DIN Pins
As for the cleaning a good 4 hours was spent
The keyboard was taken down as shown in picture
We did not clean underneath the tray
But every key was removed and hand wiped
And the tray was cleaned around the key sockets with Q-tips to a good degree
Much effort was spent to clean upper casing and bottom of keyboard
Also understand that we take great care in packing keyboards
So no undue stress is on fixed cord and keys are well protected
As packages are not always handled with the best of care in my experience
Kinda like that old 1971 American Tourister Gorilla commercial

I actually have a lot of knowledge of keyboards
I was a seller here back in the heyday of the 1st big collector wave of keyboards
Back in the early to mid 2000's this was my niche on eBay
I welcome all questions and communications of collectors new and old
I also appreciate any additional info, anecdotes and shared knowledge
I will be listing more of my stash of collectible keyboards
As is the nature of vintage electronics I will describe condition and function of keyboards the best I can
As to working useable...working but fragile or quirky...or parts or repair
