This is a great rare vintage lure with original box. It is a Heddon King Basser 8549PLXB with hooks and trailing fabric skirt. The box is the Brush Box that dates this from 1934 to 1942. It does not have the red minnow design which came out in early 1940s. The lure has teddy bear eyes and multiple hooks including extra in the box. The color is Blue Pearl Shore (PLXB) & it is 4 1/2" long (the 854X denotes that length).
This lure was promoted more in the Pacific Northwest - ...that must be why I found it here in Seattle.
