Antique Hutchinson Brothers Leather Company Punching Bag and Wall Mounting Assembly. It is said to Date to the 1930's. Made in Cincinnati, Ohio! A very historical item for the city and the time in sports.You just DON'T find cool stuff like this anymore!!! I love it! Who knows what great boxers may have used this speed bag!!! Michigan had several GREATS like Floyd Mayweather Sr & Jr...., Roger Mayweather, Buster Mathis Jr., heck Maybe even Joe Louis beat on this bag on his way throu...gh!I've enabled "Make Offer" on this auction. If it doesn't sell for a reasonable price I will hang it with all the other cool collectibles in my finished barn.Metal Ring that holds the punching bag has the original label of the Hutchinson Brothers Leather Company from Cincinnati, Ohio. Look at ALL of the pictures! The label itself is in very nice condition given the fact it is nearly 90 years old.
The punching bag is made of leather and in condition appropriate to its age. It very well may be the original bag, I am no expert. There are no visible tears or rips in the punching bag but it has seen better days. The leather is clearly worn away. Personally, I'd buy a better age appropriate bag if keeping it for a display.
The speed bag measures approximately 15 inches long and 10 inches wide when inflated.
The metal ring is in excellent condition as is the frame work. The metal ring is in very good condition and above average when considering age. That's what drew me to this speed bag, the better than average condition it is in.The metal ring that holds the punching bag measures 21 1/2 inches in diameter. The mounting assembly measures approximately 19 3/4 inches by 30 inches.
It should take very little work to mount this piece. Most of the original brackets are there. Kinda cool that it has a few specks of paint from when the gym may have been painted at one time many years ago.
Shipping relative to the location it will be sent. I can partially disassemble the brackets to make it slightly smaller. I do not control the shipping price! They charge me, I charge you the same.
