Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a beautiful working 1960's model Calrad Dynamic DM-16 H.L model microphone. This model was produced by Calrad, Midland, AMD and a few other Japanese manufacturers at the time and it comes with it's original cable, mic sleeve and box. This microphone closely resembles the famous Astatic 77 both in size and styling. The Calrads mics never measured up near the same sound quality a...s the American counterparts but that being said they have a beautiful design with high quality finish. It should be stated that this mic has been tested and cleaned. This microphone does have the original element and it's very strong on the high impedance setting. The mic has both low Z and high Z settings on the switch but only the high Z setting works well. The Low Z setting is very weak. I'm not sure what the problem is but it should be noted. If you don't mind this working excellent on High Z then this will be ideal for you. ithas a "rockabilly" sound on the High Z setting. The element inside the housing is firmly in place with zero issues and the switch mechanism work nicely sliding smooth as it should. The DM-16 would make a great general purpose mic or harp mic. The satin chrome finish is overall very nice with just lite wear in the form of tiny pitting and scratches. The black screens are free of any rips or holes and the joint mechanism works great. Easily a 7 + on a scale of 1 - 10. The real beauty is the excellent sound it still produces. This microphone takes an American style 5/8 X 27 Amphenol microphone cable which is included. It's a long 20 feet in length and has a detachable Switchcraft male 1/4 inch end connection. The cable is soft, pliable and in great physical and working condition. Will work with most modern audio equipment and all guitar amplifiers. The original box shows wear but in good overall condition. A great place to store the mic when not in actual use. This mic will screw onto any desk or floor stand you have. This microphone has a classic Italian deco design that was very popular during the 1950's and 60's before the look faded out. If you are looking for something very unique in which to display...look no farther.
