This impressive ca. 1915-1930 cast iron hanging fixture has a round lantern form with domed top, gothic strappings and button style ends. Measures 31” overall with the lantern having a length of approx 10 1/2" All of the old slag glass panes are in place and without cracks and the round cast iron canopy and chain are also original. There is NO wiring (the remnants of wiring you see in the pictures have been removed) or socket and the surface is weathered with trace r...emnants of gold gild. You will note some surface rust, some gold paint loss and some paint drips etc. For the most part it has survived the last 100 years in very good condition. The slag glass panes will be removed for ease in shipping and to prevent damage. Please note: There is one section on the edge of the canopy and repeated on the shade/pendant holder that has a rougher edge than the other sections. It is my thought that it was a flaw in the mold casting process and for whatever reason the edge WAS NOT trimmed "brought down" or "scored" at the time of manufacture leaving it looking rough and uneven. There are no accompanying stress cracks or flaws that I can find. Personally I think it only adds to its uniqueness. Of course this is only my opinion.
