This listing is for an antique French Brevete tantalus box with fruitwood and mother of pearl inlay and beautiful crystal glass decanters and glasses. The box when fully closed measures 11h by 14w by 10d inches or 28 by 35.5 by 25.4 cm. The tantulus box has a 4 bun feet base with undulating sides and a cartouche on the cover with mother of pear inlay. The box opens and reveals a wood and gilt brass holder with a "BREVETE". The interior holds 4 acid etched crystal decanters and matchin...g cut crystal and plain clear cordial wine glasses. The set includes 10 glasses, there are 6 missing from the set and 4 are replacement glasses. One decanter is missing as well. The original glasses and the decanters are further enhanced acid etched floral designs. The condition is a follows; again there are 6 glasses missing from the set, and there are a few chips on the edges of the stoppers and one decanter is missing. One bun foot is missing a small piece, htis is in the back. The box has a some surface scratches to the wood from use over the years.
