This is a vintage gilded bronze head of the Sukhothai Buddha dating to the mid 1950's. It came from the local estate of a well traveled couple who had lived in Japan, Hong Kong, and China just after WW2. The statue is displayed on a solid teak wood pedestal. It would be a great accent and conversational piece to add to your home or office.The statue sits level and has a nice weight to it (5 lbs 14 oz). It measures 4" squ...are by 12" tall (10 x 10 x 30.5 cm). It is 16 1/2" tall (42 cm) including teak stand. The teak stand measures 4 1/2" square (11.5 cm) by 4 3/4" tall (12 cm). Having been displayed lovingly for over a half century, with exception of a missing part at the back near neck (see last picture), this Buddha head statue remains in fine condition with all original patina.
