Being offered is a very nice old antique Native American Indian ball head war club. This club measures 24 3/4” long with a ball head that is 4” wide from the back protrusion to the front of the ball and the ball mewsures 10” in circumference when measured at its fattest part. This club has fantastic lines. Below the ball head is a channel that really accentuates the grain of the wood. Makes for a pretty good finger hold if holding up near the head for up c...lose fighting. There are numerous protrusions on the back of the shaft up near the ball head. All are typical Native American shaping. The shaping of the handle towards the bottom is very reminiscent of Native American work. There is a hole at the bottom of the club handle that would have had a lanyard to wrap the club around the wrist. The club has a wonderful brown patina with lots of sign of wear and use. Little dings and scuffs here and there. Given the patina and natural look to it I would place this club around the late 19th century, maybe a bit earlier. All in all, a very nice war club.
