These were specially created for the Super Bowl ads and are made of cast resin, metal and other materials. These were in scale with Budweiser glass bottles. Could also be used with approximately a 9” puppet or action figure.
Possibly the most enduring Super Bowl advertising campaign of all time was the Bud Bowl, in which football-playing longneck bottles taught us how to love watery, American-made beer once again.
The stop motion animation was created by New York based BROADCAST ARTS, the folks responsible for Pee Wee's Playhouse, also in production at the time. The 1st spots cost $3 million to produce at the time. To that date, no one had ever run multiple commercials around one idea in the big game and it was a gamble, but the desired impact paid off. Bud Bowl was born, deemed more exciting than the actual Super Bowl and became amazingly popular and part of ad lore.
