A beautiful British Celtic silver coin struck by the Iceni tribe. The Iceni dominated East Anglia at the time of the Roman invasion of AD 43, and this coin dates ...to around this period. The Iceni are best known for their notorious queen, Boudicca, who led a revolt against the Roman occupation in AD 60-61. This type wasattributed to the reign of Queen Boudicca by Van Arsdell. Well centred and sharply struck, a wonderful example of ancient Celtic art.
