This Very Nice Document of 1784 is on Hand Laid Paper and is a Memorandum That on the 5th day of January in The Year of Our Lord 1784 Personally Appeared Before Me Elisha May Esq One of The Justice's of The Peace for The County of Bristol Ebenezer Tyler The 2nd of Attelborough Labourer and John Tyler of sd Attelborough Gentleman & Ebenezer Tiffany Gentleman and Acknowledge Themselves to be indebted to The Commonwealth of Massachusetts in The Respective Sums Ebenezer Tyler&nbs...p; as Principal 20 Pounds in Silver Money John Tyler & Ebenezer Tiffany as Sureties in The Sum of 10 Pounds Each To Be Levied on The Goods & Chattels or Tenements Or There Bodies. The Condition of The Above Written Recognizance is such That if The above Ebenezer Tyler The 2nd On the 30th day of September Last Past at Attelborough IN A MOST VIOLANT PASSION THEN & THERE DOUBLING HIS FISTS AND SAYING BY GOD IF IT WERE NOT FOR THE LAW I WOULD GIVE IT TO YOU (meaning that he would Beat & Wound Him) That is One Levi Fuller and Then The sd Ebenezer sd If I Could get you Dun of Dorcn ( Meaning Out of His Dwelling House) BY God I Would Skin You & Grab You and Tare Your Limb to Limb ( Meaning The sd Levi Fuller) and DAMN you & Your Wife To & Wished Them Both In Hell for Which Threatening Words The sd Levi Was Afraid of His Life and Many other Mean Words He The sd Ebenezer then & There Uttered Contrary To Law & Against The Peace. This Recognizance taken This day 5th Day of January 1784 Before Me Elisha May J P On Verso it states Tyler Recognized Discharged By Proclamation.
