This is  a rare  19thc. Shetland Lace Shawl trimmed in 5" of Silk Maltese Lace.Long associated with the British Royal Family ...Queen Victoria loved this knitted laceand gave it away as gifts. This handmade knitted lace is extremely fine and inremarkable condition for it's age .  A few very tiny holes , no discoloration , the Maltesetrim does have some trauma in one corner as shown , this lace to is fine and there afew areas where there is pulled threads or repairs , and... one area where curiouslyit has been separated .  So fluid and fine ! Measures 75" long x 34" wide ( not incl. Maltese trim )
