Vintage Multitech KB084/A 84 - Key XT/AT Clicky Keyboard With Blue Alps Switches
Item History & Price
Here is an AT/XT 84-key keyboard from about 1987. It was made by Multitech Industrial Corp. in Taiwan, and was a part of a Multitech/Acer 710 system (IBM XT clone). It has an AT/XT switch, all four rubber pads and both folding support feet on the bottom. More importantly, this keyboard uses blue Alps switches, which give it a pleasant clicky feel.
Unfortunately the top of this keyboard is quite yellowed, except for around the function keys. A...lso, many keys do not register at all. I was unable to get it recognized on the two 21st century systems I tried, but was able to use it, with some effort, on a 486DX-33 system. I have not tried it on an XT.
I am selling this keyboard is as found/as failed condition. I have not opened it up nor have I attempted to repair it.
The original cable ends in a DIN5 connector, but I will also include a PS/2 adapter (shown in the last picture)
I will make sure that this item ships securely and promptly. Shipping within the U.S. is free.
