This is a vintage black & white photo of a B-24 Liberator in-flight. It is a press photograph taken by John Faber, Bechtel McCone aircraft photographer and Birmingham News director of photography in the 1940's. The image measures 10" x 7.75" and the frame measures 11.5" x 9.5". It's marked on the back. It has an old crease across the middle and a smaller one across the bottom but they aren't very noticeable.
Faber went on to form the National Press Photographers Associatio...n and later published Great New Photos and the Stories Behind Them, a book that was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize. He has an award named after him today. I'm unable to find records of any photos of his that have sold or are available so it's very rare to have an original copy of his work, especially one as beautiful and historically interesting as a B-24.
