1948/1949 Leaf Premium LOU GEHRIG PSA 1.5 SCARCE TOUGH CARD **SET BREAK** The 1949 Leaf Premiums are among the most underappreciated vintage cards in the hobby. I am breaking up a virtually impossible to find,  COMPLETE 1948/1949 LEAF PREMIUM SET. There are 10 cards in this set, including three Babe Ruth variations............Offered here is a gorgeous example of a tough LOU GEHRIG premium. Graded a PSA 1.5 These premiums are quite scarce, and virtually nonexistent in high grade. ...This GEHRIG PREMIUM PRESENTS MUCH NICER THAN THE TECHNICAL GRADE ASSESSED. Gorgeous!!At the bottom of each regular issue Leaf card was a promotion for the premiums in which stores were to give the card to anyone who accumulated ten wrappers and turned them in. Some stores probably just gave them away to a kid who bought the last packs in the box.Finding enough cards for sale to build a complete set is a serious challenge. Ruth and Gehrig are the most valuable, of course, with the “blue background” version of Ruth’s card considered the toughest.  A full checklist is below. Grover Cleveland Alexander, Mickey Cochrane, Lou Gehrig, Walter Johnson, Christy Mathewson, John McGraw, Babe Ruth(3 variations), & Ed Walsh.
