This listing is for an antique vintage wood shafted 37 1/4" Iron.It is an early dashed face mashie. Marked Cann&Taylor JH Taylor Autograph and the reg number on the back. The head is clean and not all rusted. Yes it does have the expected play nicksand dings. It also has a nice even dark patina and some uniform micro pitting. Please look at the zoom pictures for a better idea of condition. Theshaft is an old Cann&Taylor marked hickory (feels quite stiff). It has a bend, I see n...o cracks and it has some play at the hosel. All hickory shafted clubs should be reset prior to play. The grip is an old long leather wrap that isin fair vintage condition. Great for displayor as a gift for your favorite golfer. 40* loft and a D 2 swingweight if you are considering play. If you are considering playing with this club, while I see no issues with this hickory shaft (other than those mentioned above), I suggest that whipping be added just above the hosel to help prevent breakage. These old hickory shafts often have hidden defects and are liable to break at any time. I do not guarantee hickory shafts against breakage when put into play. Never hit an old hickory shafted club off a driving range mat. Never hit an old hickory shafted wood with a hard range ball.
