This beautiful wooden tea caddy comes complete with original tea containers, glass sugar bowl, inner wooden compartments, and brass handles. The craftsmenship is excellent- from the lovely wood inlays on the outside to the way everything fits snugly together on the inside. The curved dome-top is rare and a must-have for any serious collection; even the plush on the underside of the lid is rather uncommon.
The condition of the item is consistent with age. Apart from some minor scratc...hes, the only noteworthy damage is on the inner rim where there are a number of small dents, leading one to wonder if someone once stole the box and tried to pry it open hoping for jewelry or some other treasure. Also, on one of the inner tea containers the lid sits snugly onto its box but is no longer connected with glue; this could easily be fixed by re-applying a small amount of wood glue.
