These are a handsome pair of vintage; bespoke / custom made, "Newmarket" riding boots with an unusual wicker boot trees, from the famous Fortnum and Mason department store.They have lovely colour and patina that only comes with with age and use. The boots have certainly lived a life and have signs of wear, Both boots show all the signs of being used regularly for riding with lovely fading to the inner calf and they have the creases and folds around the ankles from use. Due to the sty...le of the boot and the design to be used when wet, the canvas is no longer flexible. The leather is in good condition without holes or cracks to either the foot or the leather binding. The leather straps are intact both to the ankle and top of boot. One ankle strap has ;at some point; been repaired where it meets the sole of the boot.The interior of the boots are marked with the Fortnums stamp.As the boots were bespoke/ handmade and specific to the owner there is no size marked to them.The external measurements of the boots are approx 41 cm (16 inches) high to the boot top. The sole measures 26 cm (10 1/4 inches) long and is 9 cm (3 1/2 inches) wide.These are a super vintage item and would look great as a display item and will look super in the hall.We take great care to describe our items clearly and honestly as possible, including any faults or flaws that we may see.
