Pre Columbian Rare Ancient Aztec Shaman Cerámica Pipe circa 1325-1521 AD.Description: Ceremonial ceramic pipe with a Shaman riding a serpent holding on to the vessel behind with his hands. 3” long 2” tall, polychrome paint intact & still visible, pipe intact with exception of hard to see crack on the first etched line from nose of snake. Can not see from the top, can see with magnifying glass from bottom. It does not appear to go through. Air can flow through the pi...pe w/o resistance. Very nice condition.History: This pipe came for a 84 year old man who lived in Chapala MX. As a younger man I had the pleasure of becoming a friend to him. During our time together he would tell stories of finding artifacts while working. I was honored to know & learn from him. Before I knew about the western MX Shaft Tomb peoples of Jalisco. He would describe how he found artifacts in a separate long type holes next to a burial sites. He said no one cared about the things & would often brake up ceramics for the foundations of buildings. I am unsure where this piece was found, as he traveled to work. The condition is so nice it may have come from a Shaft Tomb Peoples of Jalisco. He has been gone many years now. I tried to contact his nephew (my translator) to get more history & information where each piece I have was from. I was unable to contact him, in hindsight I should have written things down. I am providing the history of my artifacts on memory of my personal experiences.Reduced price To help encourage a sale.
