Here is an antique original Indian "khanda" sword. It has a wide hand forged blade that tapers radically to a narrow, thick and heavy point. This rare style double edged blade was made to cut and thrust. The point was made to penetrate mail and armor and both edges were sharpened from the tip of the blade to the wings just below the guard! The gray blade shows pitting, sharpening, small edge nicks and cleaning. There are no cracks, active rust or fat...al flaws. The steel hilt shows a very dark brown to black stabilized patina. The guard, blade and grip are all rock solid. This unusual sword is a true fighting weapon and made as a strong and reliable no frills weapon used in hand to hand combat. It came from a cache of edged weapons found in an old Indian armory in the 1960's.
