Up for your consideration is this antique Federal cherry wall mirror with a reverse painting on old glass of Mount Vernon. It features a tear drop top gallery and carved side rope detail. The top measures 14 1/8 inches wide and it stands 27 inches tall, overall. It is in good condition with a couple of spots on the mirror and some corner wear. There is a label on the back that says: "This rope cherry framed mirror with painting of Mount Vernon was the ...property of Aaron Burr and Madam Jumel and was given to the Great-Great Grandfather of J.N. Mc Micken of Somerville, New Jersey upon his leaving their employ and has always been in the Mc Micken family until purchased by Major E. Van Winkle on July 24, 1930, at sale, Blair Storage, Plainfield, NJ. See Currier News for July 23, 1930." You will need to be the judge of this provenance.
