The Gainsborough Portrait dolls created by Madame Alexander had some of the most beautiful gowns the company ever made. They look wonderful on vintage Cissy dolls and should also fit similarly shaped 19–21-inch dolls such as Miss Revlon, Belle Margie, Sweet Sue Sophisticate, Dollikin and 14R.The gown came in several colors. The yellow version is the hardest to find of the colors. This gown is made of heavy yellow taffeta beautifully overlaid with white floral lace. It has long white ...lace sleeves and a taffeta cummerbund-style waist band with a wide, two-tiered bow that almost forms a bustle in back. The skirt is full. The gown has lost its tag, but I guarantee that it is one of the prized "Gainsborough" gowns. It is in very good condition. The back taffeta "bustle" has been pressed but retains body. The gown is clean, the color is bright, and the fabric of the skirt is crisp.
