For your consideration, and from my own personal collection, I present this beautiful Marantz Model 7 vacuum tube stereo preamplifier manufactured in early 1960.
This preamplifier, serial 13394, is from the most desirable early series noted by the lack of the "7" designation before the serial number as shown in the tag on the pictures below.
All original Sprague bumblebees/black beauties, selenium rectifiers and Clarostat controls. The original Belden power cord is in... great condition as well.
The pale gold brushed aluminum faceplate is beautiful with only one small mark near the tape switch. There is some missing paint on the chassis, specially on the bottom.
But overall, the preamplifier presents extremely well. Take a look at the many pictures listed below and judge for yourself!
All controls are smooth and noise free.
The preamplifier was tested with a pair of Marantz 9 power amplifiers and Chartwell LS3/5A speakers, playing high resolution PCM and DSD sources. The sound quality was superb, with smooth response, excellent imaging and low distortion.
If you are looking for a superb, early example of the Model 7 tube preamp, this is it!

The unit will be double boxed using a large outer box and plenty of inner padding. My packing is legendary.Most importantly, the original transit screw will be installed to protect the tube bed during shipping.
