This is a Fisher 400C amplifier that is from dry storage in a estate in dry New Mexico. This unit was stored on a closet shelf inside a home a friend of mine bought from the estate. Please excuse my description, I am not very knowledgeable about old tube equipment. It is in decent looking condition with nothing missing bent or broken that I can see. I think the photos tell the decent condition. The knobs, buttons and switches are in good loo...king condition and all push, turn or snap with good feel and no looseness to them. The little Jewel light covers are all intact and look good. The cord is in good condition with the factory tags still attached on the end. The tubes are all there, I cannot read any brands on them but the three identical ones say Made in Great Britain. I removed the bottom cover to see if there was anything damaged underneath, I did not see anything obviously bad (see photo of bottom insides). I have no way of testing this but I did turn all of the controls down and plug it in. The power on light on the front came on and the tubes all lit up with no problems I could see.I do not want to be overly negative about this Fisher 400c because it is a decent looking unit that probably works. However, I like to point out everything I see (even if it does not effect use or is minor) so there are no surprises for my buyers. The unit is used so it does have some expected shop wear scratches, discolored spots and mars, certainly nothing with any major damage. There are some discoloration spots in the silver colored metal chassis panels, I guess this would be expected since it is not in a cabinet (again, please see the photos). The front panel is in good condition with one noticeable scratch by the FISHER name and some of the printing is worn some but is still readable (probably from fingers rubbing them when operating the controls). Other than that it looks pretty darn good. The owner was going to toss it out (who wants old tube stuff?) but I convinced him a lot of the old stuff was really well built, desirable and usable. We just need to pass it on to someone who appreciates well built old craftsmanship tube equipment. Because of that, NO RESERVE sold as is. Buyer pays actual shipping cost. I am adding a handling charge that will be the exact amount the USPS charges for FRAGILE Mailing Service to help protect this in shipping. Please email any questions or comments. Thanks for looking.
